Re-reading and hitting just as hard the second time

The chapter when [SPOILER] Orville dances in the powwow had me in tears; because of the beauty of reconnecting with a larger community and the context of the stadium after, felt profound. It’s at times a harsh and painful and poetic.

The State is perfect and is all he could ever ask for, for a second or a minute or a moment, to belong like this is to die and live forever. So he's not reaching up and he's not sinking down, and he's not worried about what's coming. He's here, and he's dying, and it's okay."

Tragic and amazing

refreshing even in the short amount i’ve read, not to say it’s easy but it feels like a better read

Beautiful- really wish I was reading a physical copy rather than listening to an audio book so I could more easily see how all these characters intersect. Hard to keep track over audio 😬
