Gosh Edwin. Constipated overweight guy that does a sit-up and poops his pants. That really painted a picture. Curious to see how things go with his estranged Cherokee father though. Bill, his mums boyfriend doesn’t sound so bad but after hearing the next chapter from his perspective I’m not sure I like him. Now about to hear from Calvin.

Referring to where you grew up (in this case Oakland) but it having changed so much that it isn’t there anymore. This transcends to all ancestral land for natives.

kind of spoiler review? wow this was a very tragic book and very beautiful in so many parts, all the hope i wish to feel for the characters for them and their futures is left sometimes unanswered and we can only hope they pull through that their legacy always continues 💔
