Chs. 2-3: Like he said, we don't even know what we don't know when we still use a word, but the meaning has completely changed. The only way to understand Shakespeare is to read it with help notes along the way. It may sound lofty and beautiful, but unless you know that "weeds" means clothes (Shakespeare), or that "careful" means worried (KJV), you will think you understand based on your modern English.

Thoughts after Ch. 1.
-The verses he mentions have pretty much the same wording in the ESV as in the KJV.
-Denominations could promote Scriptural unity of use, like our LCMS does, so we will all be reading from the same Bible translation.
-My ancestors were German, and we American descendants have completely lost our original language, so ties to previous generations isn't a selling point for me to keep the KJV.
