Status Updates From Shame: A Brief History

Okay, so the sections where information is provided are actually quite interesting. The sections where I’m told what I’m going to be reading about later in the book remain tedious.

After picking this book up for my second attempt my frustration has been renewed. I don’t want to spend the entire book being told what I’m going to read about later. Please just tell me once.

I've never understood why textbooky type books spend so much time telling you about what they plan to tell you about in each chapter instead of just telling you. Is it a word count thing? The small amount I've read so far that actually discusses the topic is very interesting. The oodles of info about the types of info I'm going to read about in future chapters, not so much.
