Status Updates From Regret (Under My Skin, #1)

I’ve read a ton of Christina’s books, but 2 chapters in I gave up and returned it to Kindle. Just couldn’t do it.

I wasn't expecting this to be so depressing. I guess I should've from the synopsis of the book. And also the title. HA!

// Wow, this author is laying it on THICK!!! Does she know anyone who acts like this?!!? Because holy fuck, she went all out on creating a shitty character like Brin!! I can't stand him!!!
I can't stand people who hold grudges at all; especially for ridiculous things and for so fucking long!! If you're that upset, fine, cut ties and cut your losses, NOTHING wrong with that! But don't be so fucking flip-floppy!

OH ... that POTENTIALLY puts an entirely different spin on things and gives Brin more dimension! It would have been easier to feel bad for him at least! I don't get why the author didn't share this important piece of info at the beginning, so we could sympathize with Brin before reaching unfavourable conclusions about him?!!? THIS is an important piece of info!!!

I'm thinking this author might not be for me AT ALL!!

// This author is doing really badly at the whole enemies-to-lovers trope, which if done well is a wonderful M/M trope!! Instead of wanting these two to get over their differences, I want Nick to hook up with someone else in the end, because Brin is an unlikeable and irrational little shit!!
I don't like Brin at all so far and frankly, I don't think he deserves Nick!! We shall see ... !!
