I love when characters stand up to the mistakes they made in the past but I have no soft spot for cheaters and this was actually the reason I disliked her in the first three books. Taniel moved on but Vlora is still unable to let the past behind.

Damn this is an exciting sequel. It feels fresh and different in many ways, but still maintains some of the best aspects from the Powder Mage Trilogy, like the investigative tone and political intrigue. Good stuff.

A good start to the series. Nice to see Vlora as a main character. Enjoying the direction the story is going (investigation, with political over arc).

Really liking this follow up. Even though not as strong start like the begining of Powder Mage series. My favorite person to follow is Skye who really is ruthless and seems more like Thomas than anyone. Even though could easily see Vioria become him by series end.
