I don't really know what it is, but this isn't working for me. At least not for the time being. Maybe it's just "the wrong book at the wrong time", but for now it's a DNF.

So the summary does mention modern people but I didn't realize it was like, cars and trucks and guns and grenades modern! I definitely assumed it was Fantasy Modern.

Not a turn off or anything just jarring!
