Not more than maybe forty people in all night, two girls behind the bar, three girls out there dancing. Reacher was watching a woman called Crystal. He assumed that was not her real name, but he had never asked. She was the best. She earned a lot more than Reacher had ever earned as a major in the military police.

He had never lived in New York. Or any big northern city. He had never really lived anywhere. That was the defining feature of his life. It made him what he was. He had been born the son of a serving Marine Corps officer, and he had been dragged all over the world from the very day his mother carried him out of the maternity ward of a Berlin infirmary. He had a live nowhere except…

Don’t know if I can stick with this one. All his salivating over a 15 year old girl is gross.

Feels extra sad reading this as we come up on the the 20 year anniversary.
Nine o’clock in the morning, the World Trade Center on its own is the sixth largest city in New York State. Bigger than Albany. Only sixteen acres of land, but a daytime population of 130,000 people.

I'm beginning to think that this series is not for me, because I don't really like this book.

Okay, this is kind of frustrating. It seems like things are finally starting kick off but omg the whole oh wow reacher is so huge and omg Jodie she so skinny and tiny, is so annoying lol. And there is this part where reacher is looking at an old photographer of him and Jodie and her dad. And he’s thinking, oh I remember her clean young hair smell💀

First of all, this isn’t really my type of book so it’s a little hard to fully get into it. So far, I’m just annoyed at the detailed description of traveling routes Reacher is taking. I’m not interested man, I don’t see how it’s important to the plot.

Too formulaic a series of books, too violent, and way too much graphic misogyny towards the female victims. I am steering clear of this author in future.

"Enough of a woman at fifteen to be utterly captivating, but enough of a girl to be totally forbidden." Wtf?

Found out half way through the 4th book that I was reading the wrong one in the series!! This is like literally a nightmare for me. I do NOT read books out of order, or watch new TV series out of order.
I just CANT do it. Imagine the panic I felt when I realized my husband told me the wrong order to read the books!!!! I knew I should have fact checked him. Rookie mistake.

Really enjoyed it, full of action, good strong characters, continuing on the Jack Reacher saga with style.

Rereading the series in order. Not loving this one. Some woman in danger stuff. And maybe Reacher isn’t fully formed yet?

The author keeps the plot moving well so the reader wants to turn the pages rapidly. The ending has a nice twist that rewards readers for their perseverance. Jack Reacher is a protagonist readers really root for.

The story is great. But it’s so sloooowwwwww. So much detail. Which I love and hate. I think this will be my last Reacher book... unless someone can tell me the series gets faster.

I feel a little embarrassed saying this, but I don’t understand this book as far as the financial industry goings-on. I’m chalking it up to Mr. Child’s writing style and not my knowledge base. But worse yet is this lust Reacher feels for his former colleague’s daughter, who, yes, is 30 now, but how he says he looked at her when she was 15 and dreamed what she’d be like when she was older. Yuck.
