Status Updates From Tripwire (Jack Reacher, #3)

This is getting really fun but the Certain Subplot in this one is…skirting toward some problematic areas that I don’t know can or will resolve well.

This has well and truly kicked off now and it’s DELIGHTFUL

Man, I freaking love Reacher books!

Just went I was kinda lulling with this b-plot BAM! There is a goddamn anime villain in it now. Half scarred face and a hook hand to boot! We’re BACK, baybeeee

Truly adore Child going “ya know how Reacher was jacked before? Well now he’s even MORE JACKED and TAN TOO” I fuckin’ love these things.

I fucking love that most of the set ups for these so far have just been like “Reacher accidentally stumbles into an action movie set up”. He’s already such an interesting character it’s amazing to see him just…reacting to stuff.

I would say it isn’t until about halfway through the book the plot gets to where it’s going and becomes much more readable. There’s still some uncertainty about the two different plots and how they’ll connect but you know they will.

Can we stop with the 15 years ago…. She was 15 trash… I get it suppose to not be creepy but it freaking weird just stop. Your both grown now it’s fine. Mystery part is good… that shit is awkward and uncomfortable

Jack Reacher is about to Jackify some injustice seekers!!!

While this is a thin veil of a connection between the villain and Reacher in terms of storylines, because there is hardly a connection there, the tension is non existent at the moment.
That said, Child’s style of writing makes it easy and somewhat enjoyable to read.

After quite a long hiatus, I’m back and enjoying this book again.

Had to read a Teacher book after the awesome series on TV!

I am having a real hard time reading Reacher wax poetic about how much he wanted this woman when she was 15 and he was 24. 🤮
It’s not quite Humbert Humbert level…but close.
I’m so disappointed. I really really liked Jack Reacher (the character) and now I feel like this just ruined it for me.

A bit slow moving and the story is a little all over the place. Not convinced it should take this long to get going compared to the previous books. Also the storyline with his love interest just seems particularly awkward and is over-labouring the desire he has for someone that was underage originally.

Follows the formula as expected. Not as gripping as the previous book in terms of pace and focus. Love interest/backstory in the story is a little odd to say the least.

The pacing of this one is slowwww… and is this Reacher or a military romance novel with all this angsty inner thought crap?!?! 😳

Can't decide if the switch to third person makes the character more/less understandable, but the 'love interest' in this carries a major off vibe.
