The weirdest thing about this book is that the "villain" has his office in the world trade center. So some pretty crazy shit happens there and the ambience of the WTC is practically it's own character in some of the chapters. I kind of wonder how realistic the descriptions were. Published in 1999, I wonder if Child thought back on this one after September 11th

Best paced Jack Reacher book so far.

Here we go again! How many Jack Reacher books will it take for me to hate myself?

I'm slightly disappointed by this particular instal't of the Reacher series. His infatuation with Garners daughter so far makes for a bit of a tedious read. Maybe a little bit more momentum is needed. His usual methodical ways which are interesting along with his approach to each situation usually brings about quite a gripping tale seems to be dragging.

I didn’t appreciate the pros in the beginning, but I’m liking it better now. And who doesn’t like Jack Reacher?

I love reading books where woman are constantly stalked, abused and killed ❤️ (spoilers: I don’t love them. I hate them. Please stop. Why is it even necessary. )

I’m going to DNF this because Jack Reacher explicitly lusting over a 15 year old girl is way too gross

Best reacher book so far

This thing has like three separate ongoing plots (that are tangentially connected as one macro-plot) and the way it’s bringing them all together is just a goddamn blast. Very excited to continue this momentum going into its final 150 pages.

There is a subplot in this I don’t love but the idea of Reacher being left a house in someone’s will and it breaking his brain a little is Very Good.

A bit long winded but soft romantically but made up for it with killer twist in end.

I think I’ve rechecked this out from the library like four times now. It’s not a knock against its quality, I just am too focused on other books rn I think to really bare down in this one. But it’s still fun!
