Status Updates From If I Was Your Girl

Emotional ending. I loved about 90% of this book but I'm incredibly conflicted about several aspects of the ending and so I'm not sure how I feel about it overall.

It's obviously not the focus of the book, but I'm dismayed that not one review warned me that the bisexual character plays into harmful, tired stereotypes. Just a simple head's up would've been nice.

Please don't have the bisexual character do what I think is about to happen...

This book is touching my heart.

I'm enjoying the book so far

Pretty good so far , really involved with Amanda's story though I keep forgetting who the side characters are.

Aaaaand it's only page 10 and I'm crying.

Best thing about this book so far is that I really feel the emtion. Since it's first person POV it's easy to get into Amanda's head and I feel like I understand her a lot.

It's making me angry that Amanda still hasn't told Bee or her other friends (too many names to remember) like YOU SMOKED WEED TOGETHER!! YOU CAN TOTALLY TELL HER YOUR SECRET!!

wow! pulling no punches right out of the gate.

I am enjoying this. Solid YA with a trans protagonist.

I'm liking Amanda and her character and backstory so far. Plus, I have a feeling her friends aren't as friendly as they seem. But that's just a thought. I always think like that about a main character's friends and it's wrong 90% of the time.

Loving the book so far. But, what is with the use of past tense on events that are currently happening? The writer needs to improve her craft, poor writing style.....

4.5 stars. overall I really enjoyed this book. only reason I didn't give it the other half star was because the ending kind of left me wanting more. I needed more Meredith! lol

so far I'm really enjoying this book. well written. can't wait to see what happens next

Amanda's mom is so funny in more ways than one

Bee is the best character. "I'm not the plucky queer sidekick in your romantic comedy."

We should all aspire to be more accepting like Bee
