Status Updates From If I Was Your Girl

I think this is the first time I'm reading a book where the protagonist is not cisgender, and it's... different. But I like it. Firstly it humbles me, and I can wholly appreciate my privilege; and secondly, it's a little peak at a world I know absolutely nothing about. Can't wait to finish this!

This book is so amazing

I decided this can be my morning book. I can read it on the bus (on i books) on my way to school. I love it so far. So sad seeing the struggles transgenders deal with. ):

Loved Amanda & her voice. Her's is a powerful story & im glad I read it. But can only give this 3 stars as the writing kept taking me out of story - the dialogue was often stilted & scenes transitions weren't best. I often had to flip back & reread sections as things just didn't mesh the best.

Wow.. I just.. no words. Read the acknowledgements too. The author's words are so meaningful. Throughout the whole book I can feel her presence and her pain with her own gender disorder difficulties. It felt like I was reading a fictional world mingled into the real word.. I can't explain how much this affected me.

I'm not the plucky queer sidekick in your romantic comedy.

Oh man. That made me tear up. No scratch that. I'm crying.

I believe I'm hyping this book a bit too much. So far it's 5 stars material for me and I hope the author doesn't ruin the last half for me! I hope Grant still loves Amanda for who she is regardless who she used to be.

Goodnight everyone! I'm loving this book and I hope the author does not screw it up. I'm waiting for the hard part to arrive but it's nice to see a bit of romance.:)

I'm shocked how much I'm enjoying this book so far. The author revealed something now that I hope does not come true. If it does then it ruins the whole aspect of realistic-fiction.
