What I'm feeling so far -- and has been confirmed by review I've read -- is that there isn't much of a story here. We see snippets of Amanda's life, but there is no narrative thread to tie it all together, other than Amanda navigating her new world. I know the author wanted to write a story in which good things happen to a transgender character, but it's lacking any dramatic tension.
