I was really enjoying this at first but I found myself getting frustrated with the narration style and started reading some of the reviews. I just learned that the author has been accused of raping her wife and abusing their children and I feel really uncomfortable about finishing this now. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to complete it or not.

Audiobooks for fiction are really hit or miss for me but so far I'm really enjoying this!

52% done and I'm so scared for Amanda. My heart will be definitely broken if Grants reacts badly about her secret. SO SCAAARED!!!

I think this book is inherently important and is something that we as a society need to read. It's the story of a brave Trans girl and her journey through high school and trying to become the woman she always knew she was.

Getting good...

There are changes in the voice of secondary characters and a lot of unfinished moments. I find myself confused about the passage of time--but not within the flashbacks. I'm confused during the present. I like the main character's voice and am concerned, hopeful, happy, and sad for her (depending on what's happening at that point in the story). Looking forward to the second half of the book.

I sure do hope this has a happy ending!
