Everyone is saying that Parker likes Amanda, yet he hasn’t even had one conversation with her. Only Grant has and he’s not even the one that wanted her number, or at least at first he didn’t. Based on what I’ve read I believe I can tell Parker is the shy type and doesn’t have the courage to talk to her.

This book has big 3 stars energy so far but I really want to read it because it's one of the only trans stories that were translated to French and I need to know if this could go on the shelves of our LGBTQ+ centre and what warnings to include with it

It makes me really sad that Amanda has to go through this process of switching from a boy to a girl. Because once you get a certain body that’s what you got, and it’s very expensive and hard to change it . It makes me wonder, what would have happened if she never went to therapy or if she never said anything about how she’s feeling.

Amanda and her dad just had their first official “argument”. It wasn’t a full on yelling argument but it still was about some heavy topics. Apparently while Amanda was going through problems and suicide attempts, her dad never sent a letter or anything. Based on what I read, I can see why Amanda is not very happy with her dad’s choices and that he was too scared to even say anything.

Amanda’s very quiet a seems to really prefer to keep to herself. I mean obviously she would considering her circumstances of being a transgender and scared of people finding out and treating her differently. Whenever someone comes up to her she’s already thinking the worst. This is exactly like when she was on the bus coming to Lambertville and when she was in the diner with her dad and when she met Grant at lunch.

Amanda starting her first day of high school somewhere she doesn’t know anybody must be pretty terrifying for her. I know I would hate to move somewhere new with no friends or anything. I imagined that the high school looks kind of run down, like it doesn’t look completely crappy and old but you can tell that it has been there for sometime now but they still make repairs to whatever’s needed.

Amanda’s dad seems to be slowly transitioning from having a son to having a daughter, but it’s somewhat confusing to how he feels about the change. Sometimes he’s kind about it then other times it’s obvious that he’s not happy about it. I know that they just got to see each other again after 6 years. But when are they going to sit down and have a true conversation about everything.

I don’t like how Amanda’s Dad is acting towards her when she first got off the bus. He didn’t even want to hug her or anything, just said a quick Hi. He did make small talk with her but I feel like that’s not enough, especially when you haven’t seen your child for more than 6 years. It’s pretty obvious for me to see that Amanda’s dad is not happy with her being transgender but also doesn’t want to hate her either.
