Status Updates From American Girls

Anna cyber bullied someone. Anna thinks asexuality doesn't exist. Anna thinks shit about girls who aren't pretty. I don't like Anna. But I'm still reading.

What's the bet that Anna and Dex might hook up?

Uh, it's uncomfortable being in Anna's head. She's already used an outdated/slur term for trans people, slut-shamed her sister, and stereotyped lesbians. And that's just in the prologue and chapter 1.

I plan to read on, but... This is what you're in for if you choose to read it.

Anna fought with her sister and left the restaurant they were at to go to the set. When she got to the set, she went to see Jeremy and he took her to her favorite band's drummer's birthday release party.

Anna told Jeremy about the car she always sees that sits out her sisters apartment. Jeremy followed it and got the address and name. They are going to check it out. Jeremy left a note on the counter that said "Stop". Anna starts to fight with her sister.

Olivia called Anna a hag, and it took Anna a couple of days to be okay with it. She acted like she was sick, so she didn't have to go to set. Delia got mugged because Roger asked a homeless person to "fake rob" her, and didn't believe he would actually do it. Then when Delia was supposed to meet her boyfriend, she went and got drunk with Roger and Anna. Dex had to come and get her. Anna's mother had surgery.

Anna went with Jeremy to Olivia's apartment to clean her house. Dex, Anna, and Delia had a weird conversation about the Manson girls, and it seems Anna keeps thinking about them more and more.

Anna and Jeremy went to see one of the murder victim's grave. Anna also told Jeremy the whole story why she stole the money, and how she sent all those pictures to the popular girl at school to please her friend.

They were shopping at the store for clothes, when all of a sudden a guy comes up to them. He won't stop talking to them, and Delia kept ignoring him and he finally went away. She learns more about the Mason girls and continues on with her crush on Jeremy.

She played poker against the people on the show, and won $125. She is researching the Manson sisters still. She talked to her sister about going out to get new clothes, and told her she had a crush on someone at the show.

She gets to go shopping with Olivia Taylor, a famous celebrity. She uses her father's emergency credit card to buy a $400 bag. She felt like she wanted to kill Olivia Taylor.

She is at work with Dex (her sisters boyfriend) and found out about how the show he works on actually works. She found out her dad is coming back from Mexico.

Herpes. It's not just for ugly people anymore.

He was just the kind to pitch someone off a roof as part of his method, to scare up publicity for his latest failure.

Things are off to a good start:

Anna's mom turns out has cancer, and basically blamed Anna for giving her cancer. When Anna asked if she could come home her mom said "I don't know if the stress will make the cancer worst." She learns that when her sister got her first big role her mother insulted it and told her she hated it.

She hangs out with her sister and her sister's boyfriend and she really likes him. She almost mentions the nite to her sister, but decides against it.

We learned more about the Manson family and how the dad kept telling his family to murder people. We also witnessed Anna and her stepmom's conversation. We learned that Anna can stay in LA, but has to get a job.

We got another flash back to when their mother's first husband left and learned her sister cried, but her sister never really shows emotions. Her sister got a note, but didn't show Anna. Anna got curious and opened it to find the word "Whore". Her sister's director offered to pay Anna to search into "The Manson Girls".

She found out about her big sister's movie she is starring in. We also got a clip from their past when Anna was the last one to know about her mother being a lesbian. Anna's phone broke, and she met her sister's boyfriend again.

So far, I have learned that Anna hates her parents, because they don't pay attention to her enough. She decides to leave to LA to visit her sister.
