Surprisingly, reading No Longer Human does actually make Dazai make more sense. Like obviously the suicide thing, but also the way Dazai will act passive and silly around the Agency, but then acts serious and often sadistic around anyone from the Mafia (which also is the tainted eyes thing) I thought Dazai was kind of boring in the anime, especially past the Guild Arc, so this does make him more interesting now.
