The artwork is still as gorgeous as ever, but the Armed Detectives VS the Gangsters VS the Northern American Union storyline is only okay-ish at best.
I kinda like the ending part, well and the little baby 😁
Will stay tuned for the next volume.
PS: don't you ever get me started with all the giggling I have done for all these Bungō Stray Dogs fanfics (Edagawa Rampo/Edgar Allan Poe is a thing, mind you. XD)
Alright, we're getting into the meat of the main story now. Even though this is equal parts absurd and humorous, it still gets pretty dark at times. Love the art, the characters, and just the whole feel of this series.
i’m really happy to see all my favourite writers battling it out and killing each other. i’ve never wanted to see anything more than John Steinbeck [California Jesus] telling Yumeno Kyūsaku [Fukuoka Jesus] that God doesn’t love him
Die Entwicklung von Atsushi und die Methoden, um dahin zu kommen, haben mir super gefallen. Die Stärken und Eigenheiten der Charaktere wurden super ausgespielt xD
*Reread 12/25/2021* Okay so I guess he's the guide to this book because of his ability? I hope this is explained more later on. Anyway, Q gets introduced this volume and that child is terrifying. I feel like they should include him more, but since his power is a lot it would lose its scariness if he was too overused.
Side note: Idky I love Mark Twain so much but I do. I wish he would show up more in the series.
*Original Review 03/30/2020* I still don't reallyyy get why Atsushi is the one everyone is after. Like why is he the key to this book?
Anyway I kind of like that he was like "I read this book by this author and I remember this quote." and it's literally a quote from the real Atsushi Nakajima.
Atsushi’s character development is pretty cool. And, abiding by the artist note from one of the previous volumes, I payed attention to the eyes, and wow. The eye colors really do change based on how the characters are doing. Whenever Dazai is showing the serious, cruel streak his eyes have no light in them at all. Whenever Kyouka is giving into her upbringing her eyes are also completely black. And yet sometimes the light returns to them. Dazai’s eyes were a light gray at one point. So kudos to the artist for doing all of this. It’s impressive.
Anyway the true star of the show was Tachihara being handed a child. I don’t even particularly know who he is as a character, but I can’t believe the show omitted that scene. Kouyou is pretty cool as well.
i’m trying to get as close as i can to being caught up by the time season 4 comes out! i loved atsushi in this one, i don’t know how anyone can possibly dislike him. honestly everyone is so much cooler in the manga than the anime loll
Chapters 25~29 : The Guild Arc The PM unleashed their most dangerous ability user Kyūsaku Yumeno aka Q . However, things turned south pretty quickly as The Guild decide to execute their Emergency Plan. We also get to meet more of The Guild's members : Mark Twain, Herman Melville, and their tactician Louisa May Alcott who's rather quite shy ( "That was quite a scare... A stranger tried to talk to me." )
Yep, reading this series is definitely giving me a greater appreciation of it!
I love Gin (and so should Higuchi...)
THAT WAS SMOOTH AS FUCK Although seeing them together without him is still painful :'(
I couldn't find a pic of the panel but Dazai basically pulls one of these and it's beautiful
Also I'm indulging in some Atsushi appreciation after this one because the boy just needs love and self-esteem oh my god baby boy you are so much more valuable than you give yourself credit for please love yourself you are a good boy agbdjskalkd
Kyouka appreciation too because my heart just keeps breaking for her oh my god I just wanna adopt everyone in this series
Definitely seeing the sheer power and influence that The Guild has in this one, what with being able to act with seeming impunity from the government despite y'know... massive aerial ships and biological warfare.
Was nice to have the return of Kyouka though, even if only for a little while!
Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)
I suppose the volume could have been better but after the last battle in the previous volume, I wasn't really expecting much from this except for fillers
Oh. Em. Gee! Volume yang ini nice gila. Dia punya character development tu lebih jelas sama ada daripada pihak Port Mafia, Guild, ataupun Agency sendiri. Kali ni character distribution dia agak nice. Tak ada yang over-shadow the other. Satu lagi, cara artist dia gambarkan dan lukis suasana chaos tu very on-point. Akan baca volume seterusnya!
MARK TWAIN!!! And Chuuya we all know that if you were put into the same position as Tachihara you would've watched that baby too!!! QUIT LYING TO YOURSELF CHUUYA!!!
