Not finding the 🐺 parts of this book all that compelling, but the war stuff is decent. Book's running at about a 3.5 thus far. Seems less sophisticated than I expected it would be.

Nice line: "He was excited as a candle flame."

Just as good on a re-read!

This book is going to take me a while to get through. LOTS of pages! (Reading for the second time.)

In which the Nazis prove to be very bad at hospitality and our friendly werewolf has some issues with that.

The werewolf parts in Nazi Germany feel a bit like superhero bits, but then again who doesn't mind a few dead Nazis.

So two storylines one with Michael parachuting into Nazi occupied France and storyline 2 in which we learn about the birth of a werewolf in Russia.

The origins of Michael explained while floating downwards to a Nazi occupied France in the year of the great invasion.

My copy has 720 pages which ïs 117 pages more than the copy advertised on GR.
But that is not really terrible, that means some more Nazi corpses when confronted by a werewolf. Whats not to like?

Truly cannot decide how I feel on this book? I like half the storylines I think? But also the description a step up from sixth form and I really didn’t need the description of how his ‘testicles drew up and sprouted course fur’ when werewolfing for the first time as a literal 12 year old 🥹🥹

A werewolf who hunts Nazis in WW2... what's not to love?

Given all the intense drama, the finale can't be too far away.

Engrossing.

Some of the events are highly telegraphed.

Mesmerising.

It's a good thing this is a good read as it's such a long one.

I wish I could read faster.

I'm not a big fan of stories that jump back and forth in time, but this is brilliantly told as we get Michael's child/origin story and his current mission in Nazi occupied France just prior to D-Day.
