Status Updates From Hidden (Hidden Trilogy, #1)

“Can you pick out people?  Like identify them in a crowd?”  “Crowds are harder. Lots of different scents mix together to make it confusing.”  He glanced over at me before adding, “I could track you anywhere though.”

We sat in silence for a few minutes as I continued to pet him.  He would occasionally sigh in contentment and his eyes were closed.

I let my hands fall down to my side, but Cade wasn’t done quite yet.  He head bunted my stomach which made me step back to catch myself

I watched as he dropped it to the ground.  Then his hands went for his jeans.  My eyes widened.  “What are you doing?”  I turned around quickly as I heard a zipper slide.  “You said that we shouldn’t do anything different.  That you’d adjust.  So I’m shifting in front of you.”  “Yeah, but a little warning next time.”  I huffed, still turned away.  He chuckled behind me.

I was just thinking to myself how some books do alpha mates but the man is always a completely arrogant nasty arsehole, yet somehow the mc always manages to fall in love with them. I like Cade because he is a bit arrogant but he is never nasty to Kendra and steps back when she puts her foot down.

“Hey, don’t I get one?”  Cade asked.  “I did find it online for you.”  I turned to him and stepped into his open arms.  I rose up on my tip toes to whisper in his ear. “You did this on purpose.” “No idea what you’re talking about.”  He whispered back before I pulled away and stepped to the side.

While we did tell the boys where we were going, they didn’t demand that we allow them to go with us.  Not that I didn’t catch Cade’s car cruise by on the street a few times.  Coincidence?  I think not.

“What are you doing?” “Nothing.” “Are you sneaking strawberries onto my plate?” “No.” He stated firmly. “Were you?”  I demanded, changing my question to the past tense so he couldn’t lie.    “You were eating them.  I was making sure you had enough.”  He shrugged.  “Who does that?”  I asked, bewildered.

I caught myself glancing back at him a few times to either see him watching me, or the rare times he wasn’t, he was looking at our surroundings and then his eyes would snap to mine the second I looked at him.  About the fourth or fifth time that happened, I tried to cover my tracks and strike up a conversation.
