Status Updates From Play Framework Essentials

...and re-read some of the stuff about Futures and Promises and while I "get it" conceptually, there's a bunch of implementation bits I'm still having trouble with. (Easy for me to blame myself and my lack of Scala, but he's not doing a good job explaining these things either.)

So learning a little, but there's a lot of Scala to learn for this to really be useful.

Lesson from chapter one: so far Play seems pretty awesome, but this author has turned into a big time Scala evangelist which I guess is OK but now I feel like I need to put everything on hold and go learn Scala.
