Still too many similarities to the Sookie Stackhouse series to feel original. There were lines that made me laugh aloud and I did enjoy the book but by the end I was just kind of wanting it to be done because I felt like there was nothing really entirely fresh or new.

I've already cast Adam Scott as Fred the Vampire Accountant. He's perfect.

Portions of this remind me of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. As much as I enjoyed that series I feel as though it almost makes me like this book less because it doesn't feel 100% authentic. That said, I am enjoying it and will continue to read with the hope that it will make me forget any comparisons...

I wanted to try out the Hoopla service via the library and looked for something to borrow and this popped up. Really enjoying it thus far.

I'm pretty bored with this...but I can't DNF at 80%/...I'm almost there!

Trying way too hard to elevate the writing, especially when Fred is speaking.

Also, he totally oversold the dragon guys.

The Vegas story is beyond the predictability of the rest of the book.

Publication date is 2014 but it references video stores and long distance charges. Wonder how long it took to get this out or if this part is set in 1994

A lot like Monster Hunter without Correia's obtuse heavy-handed libertarian bullshit. The monster hunter in this brings a gun into a school, but the author doesn't go into a paragraph about how gun restrictions are nonsense. Juvenile, but still reasonably pleasant.

Perfect funny book for a lazy Sunday. Recommended (it's not smut, don't be scared).
