So it's the armor that blesses the mezzo-lords. If Unyi seems unusually unblessed, why isn't that taken as a sign that the armor doesn't want/like him?

So why did Magnus stay? Because he liked it there or because he couldn't progress? And what about the strong old man earlier? Another AWOL Mezzo-lord?

Adryan’s very skilled at reading people. Is that partly due to his telepathic abilities? “Obsidian in motion.” Adryan’s a lot darker than I’ve imagined, maybe even a different colour. Is it really that important to shave daily? Not sure that’s good for the skin. How do the Mezzo-lords become the way they are? Do they ingest a substance that influences/alters their physical development?

Is Ndidi an inferior, or does that term only apply to regular men? Do the women have any unusual abilities beyond telepathy?

That’s one hell of a water purifier that he has! I wonder what his nutrient/calorific intake is like, because it’s what’s responsible for his bulk isn’t dietary, or even physical activity per se. The rules of his universe are interesting. Adryan may be in a profane dimension, but we’re lower down & more entrapped by the physical universe.

I hope Zoran will be okay. I can’t help feeling Adryan is a pawn and that The Existence is not such a big deal to those who are running the show. Adryan exists in the profane realm, which is temporal and transitory. He’s missing the point, as are many in a similar position.
