I told myself I’d take this sixth book slowly. Savour it. Make it last.

But these books are a drug like no other — once I start, I can’t stop. The stories entirely consume my consciousness so I can think of nothing else.

Now the day’s gone, the washing up is still there, the laundry’s untouched, and it’s far too late. I’m prising the book out of my hands knowing full well it’ll be exactly the same tomorrow.

This is insane!!!

I’m pretty sure this trilogy has an HEA, but if it does, it’s sure taking its sweet ass time! 😟😂

Jacqueline Carey’s stories make me want to bump some of the other fantasy books I’ve read down a star 😅
