Peter's ideas on measuring vestigia are just hilarious.

Wenn alle sagen, wie überraschend das Ende ist, und man es gar nicht überraschend findet, weil man es die ganze Zeit befürchtet hat, weil es nun mal am logischsten ist. Besser macht es das jetzt nicht unbedingt.

Ich mag es so sehr, wie Nebencharaktere aus vergangenen Büchern immer wieder auftauchen und nicht in Vergessenheit geraten. In diesen Bücher steckt so viel liebe zum Detail.

Man muss diese Bücher einfach lieben.

Oh ja, ich habe Peter, Lesley und Nightingale echt vermisst. Der Humor allein macht diese Reihe so toll.

So weit hatte ich schon mal gelesen. Dachte nicht, dass es so viel war. War dennoch gut, es noch mal zu lesen, da ich die Details doch immer sehr wichtig finde.

Habe ich schon mal erwähnt, dass ich Peter mag und wir sehr viel gemeinsam haben? Außerdem mag ich kleine Alltagssituationen, die ihn noch realer und menschlicher erscheinen lassen.

Es wird mal wieder Zeit in die Geschehenisse von Peter, Molly und Nightingale einzutauchen.

There isn't much background development for Peter's character - nor anyone else's. If you don't know what happened to Lesley's face, you'll have to figure it out or go back two books to read it.

Things.. HAPPEN. Action was witnessed... Excitement sneaked into the book.

Is this real or did i just dream it up? :D After what felt like hundreds of pages during that lame faire thing with the Rivers holding court it came as quite the surprise.

They even used magic. MAGIC! Real stuff that looks cool and useful. Not just a will-o-wisp on your hand or knocking somebody on the chest "without hands"... whow.

I was going to gripe a bit about Night Witches because russian super killer women are such a tired and often misused trope, but... kudos for actually writing about the real Night Witches of WW2. And also this:
"...the Russians were willing to make greater sacrifices. Our war was pretty desperate but theirs was a war of annihilation – victory or death was not an empty slogan."

Switched to kindle version and can't believe it given that just over a year ago I swore I'd never forsake books... but now I find it so much harder to read an actual book!!!

Anyway, this one is a bit of a slow starter but I love the characters and Peter Grant so much I don't care :)
