Not sure why I'm persevering with this series, tbh. It's not bad, and easy reading, but feels disjointed - some very good ideas spoiled by a not very well constructed attempt to interweave series-level narratives with the book-level one. The book-level one keeps getting lost, because the series-level ones are more interesting.

April is 50% done

I can see why this book has such mixed reviews. You have to pay more attention to what's going then you usually do with paranormal mysteries. Plus if you're not all that familiar with London slang and police terms you can get lost. I've had to google several things to fully understand what's going on.

Part of my enjoyment of these books comes from looking up all the locations on Google maps and street view. Sadly (or maybe not depending on how you look at it) the Heygate Estate in Southwark was demolished in 2014 but you can still find plenty of pictures.
