This book is dedicated to all the people who get up & do something about it, whatever ‘it’ is & however small the thing it is they do.

„I know trouble when it’s below the age of criminal responsibility, and while my first instinct was to arrest his parents on general principles, I gave him a cheery wave instead.“ 😂

Really liking the plot so far! Can't wait to find out what's going on with a certain location, Also love how the series antagonists are becoming more fleshed out by the page. (And I've already checked out the next installment in the series as an audiobook so that I'll finally get to hear all the accents)

Hmm, finished it. Well written nice twists. In an afterward Ben explains about the building. Hmmm, disappointed in one character. Of course obviously Ben felt like that needed to happen but still. I think that could have used a bit more foreshadowing though.

I was a little confused. Did the Faceless man get what he wanted? Some at least I am not sure all. Of he is ongoing in the series. Over all a great read

Sigh. Almost over. Peter has seen what this is about. But can he do something to stop the bad guy? This is a series so he might fail. So they almost get killed in this one. Closer and more personal that before which is all I will say about it.

More clues, deaths and his partner is doubting. He finds things others don't but that just leads to more questions

More trying to solve the mystery. Clues but where do they lead? The bad guy seems to be ahead of them in knowledge of spells.

hmmm... So is this building real? Others are. But what is he after? Magic power obviously but for a certain reason or just general?

Another twist, one not quite developed. One older very low level character is more dangerous than thought. We shall see where this twist leads.

Learning more about London. And that some architects a couple of decades ago wanted to build homes in a way that would cause people to become better people. But still finding clues to two or three crimes that seem related. Talked to the God and Goddess of the Thames.

Well a murder mystery not surprising and maybe his deadly enemy. Last time though I think he had been around but they never saw him. We shall see. Even with history and geography lessons Ben is a very good writer. Never sure what will show up next so you want to keep reading.

Now reading this series in the correct order. As usual with Ben he gives a bit history with his story. We have learned about various parts of London and when they were built and rebuilt etc. We also learn how magic works in that universe. Such as if you are not very careful the energy that is magic will destroy your brain. It takes a whole lot of practice to get a spell just right more than once. There's a mystery

Another disappointing entry in the series. It's meandering, unfocused, and despite a few charming moments, this is really just "filler" intended to set up a couple characters and a big betrayal (which caught me off guard only because it took so long to get there -- I saw it coming until i was convinced the book was going nowhere). Also, the climax of this 2013 book oddly resembles the Grenville Tower tragedy of 2017.

well.. this is as far as the sample takes me.
Far more interesting first chapter then the last couple books, hopefully the library hold arrives sooner then projected.

Immer auf der Suche nach dem Übernatürlichen. Ich mag den Schreibstil bzw. in dem Fall den Übersetzer. Es macht einfach Spaß diese Bücher zu lesen.
