OK, was NOT expecting rabbit demons! Good thing rabbits are naturally wary of snakes.

Ah, the misunderstandings upon misunderstandings are so painful, but also kinda slapstick funny! I feel like Mu Yanyu is the only person who has even half a clue here.

Our snake is a pretty girl now, but she hasn’t lost her appetite! Good for her.

Wasn’t expecting to Ji Yuebai to be so chill about My Yanyu turning up here, too! Though, perhaps since Xu Nian confessed to being into her, maybe she’s feeling magnanimous to her rival.

“He [Pang Tianlong] was like a blade, forged from dull iron, that became complacent because it was sharp enough. In contrast, she [Ji Yuebai] was a natural-born divine weapon, shining brilliantly without any need for polishing.”
DAMN right!

Oof, yeah, being a town’s patron “snake goddess” isn’t all prayer energy and snacks, is it? Proud of Xu Nian for taking a big risk to try and save her worshipers. And, ooh, Ji Yuebai is MAD now!

Me: I was not expecting there to be a competitor for the snake’s affection! Granted, if it were me I would definitely want a cute, size-shifting, talking snake friend…
(5 minutes later): Xu Nian saves a little girl, who immediately faints.
Me: Yeah, that’s more the reaction one would expect from most people!

“Ji Yuebai retained an ethereal, celestial quality…In contrast, Xu Nian’s snake body seemed so grotesque. The scales were peeling and raised, exposing the raw flesh...Xu Nian suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of inferiority and despair…Ji Yuebai asked with concern, ‘Does it still hurt?’ Xu Nian, unable to hide her sadness, responded, ‘It hurts, it hurts a lot.’”

Aww. Poor pining snek.

Just like when you see beautiful flowers or butterflies…But, in all my years, the most beautiful creature I’ve ever encountered is still you. Seeing you every day is a feast for my eyes.’”

I was wondering what kinda Mary Poppins/Tardis storage bag does Xu Nian has that can carry a whole-ass tiger skin. But if Ji Yuebai’s can fit a sword, a pile of extra clothes, and a bunch of magical artifacts, then I guess “bigger on the inside” is just standard!

Wait - do snakes HAVE lips? Good enough for sort-of CPR? Well, I guess she IS a demon snake…

“Ji Yuebai felt a cool sensation...the pain rapidly dissipating…Incredulous, she looked towards the little green snake.
