I never cry reading books. Pretty sure never is accurate. But I just did reading about Oliver/pet crying as he surrendered himself to the dark collector. It was raw and cathartic and he didn't realize how badly he needed it until it happened. I had a major emotional reaction to that. Totally unexpected.
