I'm enjoying this book, but I do think the author is making some sort of case against tattoos. I wish she included some good about them as well.

I was a bit disappointed Sep and Joshua didn't get back together. However! I accept it too. You don't always get the happy endings and sure the author pulled my heart strings for the breakup and then not getting back together. But I love the life lesson at the end "learn to love yourself first. Show others you love them too."

I also don't like that Sep keeps going to Slingy, the girl at the makeup counter for advice. I understand seeking someone older, but seek someone who knows you. I wish Sep would talk to her friends or a school councilor (though that would be social suicide)

I don't like how Sep's mother doesn't stand her ground. She starts off strong then just gives in. I think Sep needs some discipline. I also feel like the mother might be hiding something, but maybe not.

Pennsylvania now we know where the story takes place. Weather was a clue. The trip to see the Statue of Liberty made me think they were further north in jersey or Massachusetts.

All the chapters leading up to 14 were short then they got long. I like the longer ones, personally. The shorter ones just felt like unnecessary filler.

I was afraid it was going to drag longer until Sep saw the doctor. Thank goodness it didn't. The first two days of school were a little length but it seems to be setting the tone of the story, characters, atmosphere, etc.

Imagery for me is really great because the author explains in such good detail what is going on with each character. I can picture in my head sep's white lips and her reaction with the lipstick she has on to cover them up. How others see her with that new purple liptsick which is great.

I like the fact that it all takes a turn in the begining of the book of how the guy Giuseppina (pina) likes ends up flirting with her right after she completely froze when he was talking to her because all she did was nod. I can now start picture what's going to later happen in the book.

I choosed this book because the under the title it states "Skin takes readers from the melancholy of change to the power of transformation" and that really caught my attention to want to read this book because of how they're telling me it will catch my attention and i like when books catch my attention to get me to actually go on with the book.

Not sure how I feel about the main character :/ She kinda annoys me which isn't good.

I'm enjoying this book. It's one of the most sexually explicit YA novels I've read, but the sex is appropriate to the plot and the author handles it well.

Really interesting :) I like the characters and romance!

MC describes herself as a blumpy tunafish with a tampon harpooned inside her.

I definitely like this later part of the book more than the earlier parts but it's still kind of meh

the most unrealistic part of this book is how this girl's lipstick is like made of fucking magic. how does she make out so often without it all rubbing off???

omfg the sex scene is the most awesome and hilarious thing to happen in this whole book so fat

I get that this is a difficult situation and I would have been freaking out if it happened to me at 16 but her distrust of people and terror her bf will leave her, like "i'm running out of time! it's almost over!" ... it seems exaggerated :/

Hottie? wowww. when was the last time I heard someone say hottie??? o_o years. yeeeears.

I hate when ya authors completely forget that teens have PHONES. "do you have maps in the car?" really? its called gps.

ARE WE LITERALLY GOING THROUGH HER ENTIRE MEDICAL HISTORY? seriously? this is happening right now? O_O you couldn't just sum up with "the doctor asked me a lot of questions but we came up with no answers"???

this is......... incredibly boring.

DNF at 79%. Let's be clear. The last time I didn't finish a book, I was probably in the third grade. And that book haunted me until high school, when I dug it up and finished the whole thing. But I won't read something repeatedly graphic, because I have more conservative views and I'm uncomfortable with it. Skin had potential, but I won't keep reading it. That's my personal choice. I think I know enough to call it.

Feeling the one star. I skipped basically that entire chapter. TWO WEEKS, GUYS. TWO WEEKS. If the book goes back, I'm DNF-ing. That's it.

So far I'm just not liking this book.....at all. I feel like it's past the point of being able to become amazing :/

Honestly, I'm not popular enough to just text and have random conversations with my friends. But out of literally everyone I have ever texted in my life, NONE of the, actually use text talk. So these conversations between Sep and Joshua in text? I kind of want to shoot something.
