(Page 176) This piece of evidence shows words of the wiser because Yanek has been sent to ike 7 different camps so far and all he knows is that he needs to survive. He is struggling though because he is the only one left in his family and he wants to stay alive longer.

"You have no name. No personality, no family, no friends." (Page 167) This piece of evidence shows again and again because this saying has been said in the book multiple times which means it is important. Yanek cant identify as anything or else he could get killed. So, everytime there is roll call, he panics because it could be his last moments alive.

"You are strong enough to be selected to work." (Page 152) This piece of evidence shows AHA Moment Yanek is being selected to go work as a Jew. Then once all the Jews and europe are collected into camps, they will make a new jewish state and all the Jews will be free. So, Yanek was lucky that he didn't have long to do it, but he still was shocked he was being put to work.
