Love is a strong part of this book - the family love between old friends and family members, and the mature love of couples. Trust and the lack of trust; and the tensions that arise when trust is an issue. It's so easy to shove hurt or shame far away inside where one hopes it will never surface instead of sharing it and embracing the consequences.

Love is so strong, she hears him calling her name when he is far away physically, but not emotionally.

God is in control, but he gives us the right to make our own choices so sometimes...

Malcolm thinks he only needs one date to convince her to be his forever...he doesn't realize he's not in control - God is.

Seeing god at work in other people's lives is always good, even when the other people are characters in a book, because I know those characters are invented from memories and the way God works in their lives are invented from memories of reality.

I am really enjoying these conversations. The realistic atmosphere is like a warm blanket of memory surrounding me and making me feel at home.

The tension is building. why the dog? What is going on with Qu? This book, that seemed almost superficial at first, gets deeper and deeper.

What do the beautiful people do when tragedy strikes? Do they turn to God? Tierra doesn't pay much attention to God, but when she needs the right reaction to a friend's need, she senses god leading, but...

this is a fascinating look into the life of a diva - the name of the series, Beautiful Messes, is appropriate. A woman can be beautiful in appearance and living the "good life", never knowing what a complete mess her life is in.

So far it's an interesting read. I'm curious to find out why Tierra is so upset with God...
