This is where the story starts to drag a bit. It's still fun and entertaining, but the big fights are not here. Also, the most sweaty and thirsty book so far.

somehow rand is the least annoying of all the characters who have had a pov so far. faile and Perrin are absolutely insufferable, all nynaeve does is tug at her braid and mat needs to grow up.

Every time I reread this book, I’m reminded that the prologue feels like the longest chapter ever. Thank god for all the context and recaps though; I forgot that was in there! Makes picking up from here much, much easier.

This whole series feels like a world building masterpiece. Has anyone ever just summarized the whole thing into two books? I believe it is possible.
