God mentions at least thirty-eight different kinds of 'hubb' - 'love' or 'liking' - in the Holy Qur'an. Each of these thirty-eight kinds of hubb differs subtly in meaning from each of the others so that there is no tautology in Arabic, and each word means something unique and precise but subtly different.

God has given each and every human being inalienable rights, and has obliged Muslims to have respect for all human beings; not to commit aggression against anyone; to be peaceful and just; to be merciful; to empathize; to forgive them; to pardon them; to restrain themselves from anger; and to repay evil deeds with kindness;...to do this with all people, whoever they may be and regardless of their faith (or lack of it

Through the supplication, 'My Lord, have mercy on them, just as they reared me when I was little', God reminds people of the mercy their parents showed them when they were young - however remiss they may have been in certain details - because every living person is alive only due to God's grace and mercy, and then due to the mercy of his or her parents.

However, as is the case with 'hatred' and 'abhorrence', nowhere in the Holy Qur'an is it stated that God 'loathes' anyone. God 'loathes' only certain deeds...
