The topic of rape is absolutely terrible.
And I’ve said it already, but this author did a truly shitty job of addressing it. Of writing about it.

Oh yeah another very important thought I just remembered

The awful shit in this book has inspired me to write a story where the aliens in the story do awful shit and try to do awful shit to the MCs

Try.

I want to write about an alien species where they dare them to try to do some bullshit like that and get their asses literally handed to them.

I want them to fucking be powerfully for once

^i know for sure that their punishment isn’t enough.

Certainly not enough at all.

I need a good torture and death scene for the bad guys for once.

I’ve yet to read a satisfying one lately or any that I can recall atm.
Even ones that claim to be darker genres..

Truly disappointing. And disheartening that not even a fictional story and world will give justice and vengeance to those who deserve it.

The audacity of these fucking aliens…
Atrocious absolutely VILE behavior.

The concept of a race of “intelligent” beings, being allowed to do all that fucking awful shit to other sentient beings… it’s nauseating and infuriates me to no end.

Rn I hardly recall what all happens to the bad guys who are apprehended later..but..

At the very least this book has given me several inspirations in my own writing and storytelling ideas ..

Like aliens that aren’t written so fucking stupid.

But i can’t help but equate a species advanced and intelligent enough to have accomplished space travel, to be so fucking dumb and awful as to allow awful shit to happen

The tone of this book isn’t appropriate at times I think is what I’m trying to say here

It’s not serious enough

I can’t tell or recall rn if it’s bc of the nature and culture of these main aliens
The sexually uninhibited species

Which is awful.

Bc then that shitty character I mentioned gets away with so much
Which is realistic I guess in a way

But also makes evryone fucking stupid

As well as things like how terrible the shitty characters are in this world building
Like this writing downs convey or portray enough imo, how awful the situations are at times

The alien almost dissections, the literal assault and almost rape, and then the actual rape of that poor girl later in this book or series

Prob why I don’t reread Sheala’s story..

This could’ve been so good honestly
If it was edited right

One rant already

The word planet is repeatedly mentioned or spoken in this one scene
And in the same damn paragraph, and even the next sentence after the next, that word is misspelled

How this series has been stagnant for years
Still no update on the next book or whatever

And remembering again how this cover photo art is ugly as hell

As well as the lack of editing on these pages

I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite series
But it’s certainly very memorable
And I have to force myself to outright ignore all the shit I hate to enjoy what I love about the story

So I’m rereading this for a twentieth time or so bc why not
I guess I needed a comfort read rn

I’m currently bleeding and have been having the worst reoccurring skin rash and bumps for at least a week now

My dominant hand is mostly out of commission and I can’t touch or do anything with it
I guess I should be glad my right thumb pointer and middle go get are okay for now though
Ugh

Actually, maybe a solid three stars, bc of fond memories when I first read this book
And it made a lasting impression, even though I’m glad I didn’t remember the shitty parts

Reread for the however handful of times

So many errors
