Finished reading the Appendix A that deals with the relationship between law and grace in Romans 6:14. In essence, "under law" means "under condemnation"; "under grace" means "under the mastery of Jesus Christ." This is based on the word "master" or "reign" in Romans 6 (based on the versions the authors used). The Bible is replete with references to the Christians duty to obey and keep God's commandments.

The authors deal with other arguments that are not based upon Scripture. These arguments include science and biology – such as “I was born this way.“ In the section I’m currently reading, they deal with why scholars who read the same Bible come to drastically different conclusions. The answer? Some place experience and other factors above the Bible.

I’ve just finished the section that dealt with common objections to Romans chapter 1 addressing homosexuality. Some examples include the idea that Paul doesn’t call homosexuality a sin, or that Paul was condemning a social construct relative to homosexuality. All of which the authors find untenable.

The arguments presented are more basic that the two or so previous books I've read. Could do well with some more depth and interaction. So arguments are ad hominems.
