Renata Such an inspiring choice to begin a new year of reading! Looking forward to your reviews!

Laura Rogers LOL! Is one book really a challenge? And for a teacher? Hey, I cut my challenge in half this year, so who am I to talk?

message 3: by Ken (new)

Ken Actually, it's my way of saying, "I don't need no stinking goals when it comes to books. Reading is not a challenge, either against others or myself. It is also not a look-at-me kind of thing."

So, every year, I fill in the blank with a one as the mildest of mild protests.

message 4: by Laura (new)

Laura Rogers Ah, a non-conformist at heart. You are right, true lovers of the written word don't need a reason to read.

message 5: by Glenda (new)

Glenda Overachiever! LOL!
I feel your protest and also struggle w/ the goal-setting and numbers game, but at times of great exhaustion, such as now, knowing I set a reading goal helps me overcome the burnout I'm experiencing.

message 6: by Ken (new)

Ken Sorry about the early-onset burnout, Glenda. June is nigh, however! Stay strong!

message 7: by Jaline (new)

Jaline Congratulations on surpassing your goal! :)

message 8: by Ken (new)

Ken Shucks thanks, Jaline. I'm so goal-oriented, Silicon Valley recruits me every year.
