He was a mild, good-natured, sweet-tempered, easy-going, foolish, dear fellow,—a sort of Hercules in strength, and also in weakness.
“أقسام ما يوصف به اللّه تعالى،
ابن القيم رحمه الله:
أحدها: ما يرجع إلى نفس الذات؛ كقولك: ذات، وموجود، وشيء .
الثاني: ما يرجع إلى صفات معنوية؛ كالعليم، والقدير، والسميع.
الثالث: ما يرجع إلى أفعاله، نحو: الخالق، والرزَّاق .
الرابع: ما يرجع إلى التنزيه المحض، ولا بد من تضمّنه ثبوتاً ؛ إذ لا كمال في العدم المحض ؛ كالقدوس، السلام.
الخامس: وهو الاسم الدال على جملة أوصاف عديدة لا تختص بصفة مُعَيَّنة؛ بل هو دال على معناه لا على معنى مفرد، نحو: المجيد، العظيم، الصمد؛ فإن المجيد من اتصف بصفات متعددة من صفات الكمال، ولفظه يدل على هذا فإنه موضوع للسعة، والكثرة، والزيادة،
السادس: صفة تحصل من اقتران أحد الاسمين والوصفين بالآخر، وذلك قدر زائد على مفرديهما، نحو: الغني الحميد، العفو القدير، الحميد المجيد. وهكذا عامة الصفات المقترنة والأسماء المزدوجة في القرآن؛ فإن الغنى صفة كمال، والحمد كذلك، واجتماع الغنى مع الحمد كمال آخر، فله ثناء من غناه، وثناء من حمده، وثناء من اجتماعهما.”
