I used to be a flight attendant. I’ve also worked in an ice cream shop, trained as a hairdresser, studied sociology and psychology, written for and performed with a touring theatre company and backpacked across far-flung countries with loose change in my pocket. I wrote my first novel, Purple, during the sleepless, jet-lagged hours spent in hotel rooms around the world. I’m busy writing something new.

Japan – Earthquakes & Temples

I woke up at 2am when the bed started shaking, but apparently a 5.5 on the scale is nothing to get alarmed about!

Experiencing that earthquake has made me realise how fragile we are. We’re all balancing on a moving crust and our world can literally come crashing down in seconds.

The following day I spent a couple of hours walking around Narita Temple. Serenity restored.
