My mother was the photographer in the family and mastered the art of having her finger over her beloved brownie's lens. I got seriously addicted to image capture in 1971 and had an excellent teacher and access to his gear.

Now with the flexibility of digital I can "take a photo" then "make a picture." I shoot RAW and then edit in Photoshop/Bridge with the terrific Nik Software plug-ins.

Learning curve on gear can be steep, especially when you change systems (in my case Canon to Fujifilm) but not as frustrating as photo editing - great fun and tons of help on YouTube.

I enjoy the "street" genre and love to play with architectural contrasts and geometrics. Thanks to my proximity to the streets of New York City, I can switch to some kind of vis
