I think writer's block is a writer's mind trying to tell them they're missing something - something really useful that needs adding to whatever it is they're working on.

So I step away from whatever it is I'm writing. Go do something else. Anything. Sometimes just sitting listening to music even....and then you hear it.

Little whispers of inspiration - a thought here, an idea there, an improvement somewhere else.

Sometimes by stepping away you come back with something even better than before. A while ago I used to think of writer's block as something of disdain - now I look at it as grist to the mill.(less)
