Solany Lara is a Chicana who is the product of her immigrant parents’ hard work and tenacity. Working as an academic interventionist, she assists K-8 students with their literacy and math development. Lara loves sharing her love of reading with everyone she encounters, as she believes that reading can have a profound effect on people’s lives. She's currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Library Science at San Jose State University.
