I know that Scout is a young girl and that she lives in Maycomb County. Unfortunately, the story has not yet introduced a complicating event which will create rising action.The book has been hinting at possible complicating events throughout the whole story but they all just fall flat on their face with a disappointing end.One of the main events which the story has hinted at was Tom Robinson, he has been popping in and out of Atticus's conversations with other characters.He needs to go on trial for some sin and Atticus is trying to prevent his from going to jail. I think this might be event which the story is going to revolve around but it is not picking up at a speed fast enough to keep the book from becoming slow and dull.

Now that I have finished to kill a mockingbird I’m slightly more happy about the book and I now think that it was worth the read. At the beggining I got annoyed at Harper Lees writing style as it is much more slow and descriptive than other books that I read. I feel that the book had a great message that sometimes evil triumphs over good and that life is not fair. I think the book told a very difficult topic to talk about from the perspective of a young girl and this was very clever. The author created a character, who although was not the most interesting at times, was unaware of the world and problems around her.

The one thing that I found strange in the book was how the author portrayed the complicating event. For the first half of the book, it felt like Boo Radley was the main problem. However, during the second half the book has the Tom Robinson Court Case where Atticus Finch tries to save him. But the book ends with Boo Radley. Therefore, she wrote it as if the main problem was Boo Radley and finding out who he was. I think this could have been a choice for Scout as maybe she saw Boo Radley as a larger problem than the court case.

Altogether, I think the book was worth a read. It was very interesting to see the changes that happened to the characters after the court case.. For example, Jem said that there is no good in life and becomes very sad and depressed. This made the characters more relatable even though they were suppose to be living 80 years ago. To kill a Mockingbird was a story about Prejudice and a little girls perspective on the world. ...more "
