Loida sells advertising by day for the Houston Chronicle, a Hearst newspaper. She is a writer by night and has been blogging at ShoeGirl Corner for eighteen years.

You can find her novel "Broken Cousins" and other stories on Kindle Vella/Amazon.

Her short story "The Canal" was a Glimmer Train Press finalist and she had an essay published on LiteraryMama.com .

Her “This I Believe” essay was chosen by NPR and KUHF, Houston Public Media. She has read with Nuestra Palabra, Latinos Having Their Say, and has appeared on their radio program on KPFT, Radio Pacifica.

She is the founder of Little Libraries in Laundromats in Houston.
