“I've come to the conclusion that a man without a cause is nothing. He has nothing to look forward to, he has nothing to work toward; he is as a man lost, wandering in the darkest part of his heart to find a deeper, better purpose in his life.”

“When you are a soldier you do not always realize there is anything beyond the will of your commander, the will of your king. But when you're on the field of battle, when the swords clash and the colors fly above you in all their glory, there comes a time when you wonder: Why am I here? All the brilliance fades, the glory becomes meaningless; the blood spilled and comrades dead, all for nothing when you have no cause to fight for.”

“When we read a story, we inhabit it. The covers of the book are like a roof and four walls. What is to happen next will take place within the four walls of the story. And this is possible because the story's voice makes everything its own.”

Thank you! Well, it will be up on the blog for a few days so you can stop by anytime :) And the giveaway will be running through July 20th, so if you want to enter there will be plenty of time to do so :)
A huge congratulations on the finish and release of your new book, Wolfsblood! I'm not sure if I'll be able to pop in for the release party, but either way hats off to you! :)Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Went to my local bookstores to spend my birthday money today, and got some of the books I have been wanting to buy for a while =)
Ahh, that was a close one! Yes, I always try to remember to back my stuff up as soon as I'm done with it. I remember the pins and needles feeling of using my old computer and wondering whether it would lose my files, My laptop is a lot more nice to use because I don't have to worry about that too much.
I almost fried my laptop yesterday - on accident, naturally. Had a moment of panic and was immediately glad that I had backed up my story on a Flashdrive. Thankfully, though, the computer didn't die. Phew!
I got my first five star review today from a complete stranger!! Sweet as a nut! =Dhttp://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Scedual up for On a Foreign Field: A Story of Loyalty and Brotherhood blog tour! Take a look:http://hazelwest.blogspot.com/2012/08...
Just got me proof copy!! Looks awesome, not just have to figure out if the one annoying margin is my fault or happened in printing... grr...
You know, I bloody hate facebook. It's even hard to create an account for a fictional character (hits head against the wall)In other news, I just ordered the proof copy of "On a Foreign Field" Hopefully that will turn out much better!
Hi Hazel! Thanks for accepting my friend request :)So, I mostly read YA novels. I'm trying to get into more classics though also. I read basically any YA, but mostly fiction. I'll read paranormal, dystopian, contemporary, adventures and stuff like that. I like heroes and people who can stand up for themselves and aren't reliant on everyone else. I like strong willed characters.
Thanks for the kind words! I entered your giveaway too! Not normally my thing, but I want to start reviewing other indie writers more often!
