Just one day at HorrorLand? That's a shame, and I mean that sincerely.
I don't know what possessed R.L. Stine when he wrote this particular book that wasn't there for the previous fifteen entries, but it's beyond incredible. The characters were all re

TL/DR: This book is the first outright "skip" book in my Goosebumps series readthrough. Were this not part of my 62-book journey and a required stop along the way, this book would have been DNF'ed around the 40% mark.

This book was really quite wonderful. While it doesn't quite have what it takes to make my Top Ten ranking of overall Goosebumps books, to give it anything less than a 5 star review seems a little disingenuous.

Perhaps it's because I'm a lifelong horror fan who has become somewhat jaded to the ins and outs of the genre, but this book was a tough sell for me. It wasn't a phenomenal book, but it wasn't bad either. It had enough to keep me entertained, albeit ...more

Whenever someone is asked what they remember about the Goosebumps series, either by book or television show, the answer is almost always one of two things: Slappy the dummy... or The Haunted Mask.

The Ghost Next Door tells the cliche story of a mysterious neighbor who shows up in town claiming to have always lived in the house that sat vacant for quite some time. And despite his best efforts at offering a "plot-twist" ending, R.L. Stine

Welcome to Camp Nightmare isn’t too bad of a book, really. It’s got enough tension to make it interesting, the characters aren’t altogether bad… as far as Goosebumps books go, this is as cookie-cutter as they come, but in an entertaining way.

“See the TURTLE of enormous girth! On his shell he holds the earth. His thought is slow but always kind; He holds us all within his mind. On his back all vows are made; He sees the truth but may not said. He loves the land and loves the sea, And even loves a child like me”
