S.L. Baron isn't a full-time writer but keeps wishing she could quit her day job. She’s been scribbling down stories since she was a small child, and she’s glad the evidence of those stories no longer exists. After reading Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire, she found her Muse. She’s been obsessed with vampires and other types of immortals ever since. When she’s not writing about her own Children of the Night, she reads all she can get her hands on about these and other supernatural creatures.

S.L. grew up near the shore in the New Jersey Pinelands but lives in West Virginia. She graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Keeping her company is her partner in crime, Tim, and three insane cats.

My plans are to finish it by the end of summer so I can independently publish it before the end of 2019.

The story takes place after the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, France, and has my vampires taking a stand against radical terrorism. I loved Paris when I visited and was saddened by the events, so I started wondering what immortals who have seen the world grow and change would do if they were motived. The story has evolved into so much more than I thought it would, dealing with topics such as love, family, grief, and religion.(less)

I never should have looked up. Wondered about that woman wrapping a shawl around her pale shoulders, pressing her petite hand upon the window. Her eyes met mine, beckoned to me. Begged me to be her hero.

A prisoner of a cruel father or husband who kept her locked away so high above the beautiful city below. At least that’s what I thought. The young fool that I was.

"This book has potential but needs much more editing. It felt more like an early draft than a polished manuscript. There were whole chapters that were duplicated (17/18 or was it 18/19, as well as one of the later ones)
