S.L. Baron This is a tough question! There are so many fictional worlds I would love to go to!

I'll start with Discworld. It parallels our universe so much, yet it has wizards, witches, and sentient luggage. I'd love to hang out with Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg...as long as I have me some good Luggage.

Next, as hard as it would probably be to stay alive, I would want to visit Westeros. Martin created such a vivid world for me through his books, and I'd want to do everything I possibly could there, from explore north of the wall to what lies east to eventually being daring enough to sail west, where no one has come back from.

Finally, I'd like to step into the world of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Granted, this is actual history, but it would be amazing to experience it and. to spend time with Claire and Jamie Fraser. The thought of being able to step through places in the world and be transported in time is a concept I love!
S.L. Baron I'm actually nearing the end of a vampire-y book right now. My plans are to finish it by the end of summer so I can independently publish it before the end of 2019.

The story takes place after the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, France, and has my vampires taking a stand against radical terrorism. I loved Paris when I visited and was saddened by the events, so I started wondering what immortals who have seen the world grow and change would do if they were motived. The story has evolved into so much more than I thought it would, dealing with topics such as love, family, grief, and religion.
S.L. Baron The 2015 terrorist attack in Paris inspired the book I'm working on. One vampire loses her Pet in the attack and decides to prevent other attacks from happening.
S.L. Baron My work-in-progress involves my vampires deciding to take a stand against modern terrorism.
S.L. Baron The best thing for me is creating characters. I love having them live in my mind and wondering how they would handle everyday situations. They help me cope with things in the world over which I have no control.
S.L. Baron The best advice I can give is something you'll hear very often: Read a lot and write a lot! Read everything you can get your hands on so you can pick up on different styles and learn what you like and what you don't like. And don't just stick with reading the genre you want to write--you'll miss out on so much!
S.L. Baron I found the best way to deal with writer's block is to step away from the project. Pushing through doesn't work for me, so I usually read instead.
