Dann has BSED in English and Theater Education from the University of South Dakota, an MFA in Digital Cinema from California’s National University, and has spent many years as an educator and professional actor and director. He currently serves as a Media & Design Specialist at Minnesota’s Carleton College. He’s a sucker for the Great Outdoors, Caribou Coffee, and his beautiful wife, and three impressive kids.

Father Elijah: “Social Law vs Natural Law”

When social laws do not obey natural law, society will fight it. It’s why absurdities like suggesting that biological males who “live as” a woman have actually become a woman. Those who honor natural law and understand the importance of applying them to societal laws will, naturally, push back. Had heard Sedaris was a hilarious writer. I didn't find it to be true in this book. It was melancholy at best. Maybe he's funnier in other novels? Just wasn't for me--but clearly he's a capable writer, and others enjoy his work. ...more
