Forthcoming translation, Deleuze On Painting
Although I'm not one to toot my own horn, I suppose maintaining a blog isn't the best way not to do so! In any event, the U of Minn Press marketing would like me to provide prepublication info about Deleuze's On Painting, for which I'm the lead translator. So here is the pre-order link:

| For readers seeking well-developed plotlines, distinct characters, etc., this is not for you. Much of Bousquet's reflections are presented as aphorisms, meditations, "thought-fables", and peculiarly self-referential deep dives into his own deep sensi ...more | |

| I was ready not to like this since I am one of the few people, as far as I can tell, to have found Smith's Just Kids pretty much a tedious exercise in name'-dropping and "ain't I special" self-indulgence. To her credit in this genuine autobiography, ...more | |

| It has taken me nearly 50 years to come to terms seriously with this all-important book by Deleuze. Not only was it his major dissertation (Expressionism in Philosophy: Spinoza was the 'minor' one), it was a major provocation to the philosophical com ...more | |
